  • Kiyohide Shinjo, Hanshi 9. Dan Uechi Ryu Karate Do
  • Masaaki Ikemiyagi, Hanshi 9. Dan Goju Ryu
  • Hiroshi Akamine, Hanshi 9. Dan Ryukyu Kobudo
  • Masanobu Sakugawa, Hanshi 9. Dan Shorinji Ryu
  • Zenshun Shimabukuro, Renshi 6.

„In January 2018, a delegation of five Okinawan Karate & Kobudo masters along with a team from the Okinawan prefecture office came to Europe to promote the 1st International Traditional Karate and Kobudo Tournament in Okinawa, which will be in august.

After Madrid and London the seminar in Munich was the last of the tour.

The Okinawan masters:

Kiyohide Shinjo, Hanshi 9th Dan Uechi Ryu Karate Do
Masaaki Ikemiyagi, Hanshi 9th Dan Goju Ryu
Hiroshi Akamine, Hanshi 9th Dan Ryukyu Kobudo
Masanobu Sakugawa, Hanshi 9th Dan Shorinji Ryu
Zenshun Shimabukuro, Renshi 6th Dan Shorin Ryu (son of Zenpo Shimabukuro, Hanshi10th Dan)

They were assisted by Dell Hamby, Renshi 6th Dan Ryukyu Kobudo and Uechi Ryu Karate Do, who helped during classes and also worked as an interpreter.

The German organization team was Sensei Jamal Measara, Kyoshi 8th Dan Shorin Ryu, and his students.

About 200 participants came from Germany and some foreign countries (Italy, UK) and got the chance to experience the different Okinawan styles represented by the masters.

Seven members from our Ki-Shin-Tai Dojo Erlangen joined the event. We enjoyed it very much. Our only regret, the seminar was way too short and tight schedule didn’t give the masters much time to spend with their German students.

Doumo arigatou gozaimashita to Sensei Measara and his students for the organization and to the Okinawan masters for the great teaching.“
